martalli: The English Classes: Post 9 Chandra Shekar has been a bit dismayed at all of this, as he lost his private lessons.  I, too, lost my Kannada classes!  I am meeting with five kids (well, one of them is 20 but the others are teenagers), including Chandra Shekar, after the class with the little ones.  We are focusing on more complicated grammar and on conversation.  And then, while I eat my dinner, Chandra Shekar sticks around and we do a little 1-on-1 English/Kannada class.  I must admit, my Kannada progress is slower than the kids’ English! Pictured here: Preeti, in the blue shirt, has really taken to the classes and picks up everything really quickly.  She has become my unofficial assistant teacher, helping all of the other kids know what to say and do.  It’s really amazing to see how much she is understanding.
